Safety and Occupational Health Academic Seminar in the Eastern Region 2022 and TISS No. 2 8th August 2022

 Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Minister of Labour, assigned Dr. Suteph Chitaywong, Secretary to the Minister of Labour, to preside over the opening ceremony of the Safety and Occupational Health Academic Seminar in the Eastern Region, held at the Nikko Amata City Hotel, Chonburi. The seminar was attended by Mr. Wibul Kromdidth, Executive Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, who welcomed the participants.

After the opening ceremony, Dr. Suteph Chitaywong honored 12 companies from the Eastern Region with a Gold Award (1st Year) for their participation in the campaign to reduce workplace accident statistics to zero in 2022. Ms. Wichchuda Simakajorn, Director of Amata City Industrial Estate (Chonburi), also presented 34 awards to companies in the Amata City Industrial Estate for their involvement in the same initiative.

Following this, an MOU was signed between the Institute for Occupational Safety, Health, and Environmental Promotion (Public Organization), Amata City Industrial Estate, and the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning, Thammasat University, for academic cooperation and safety-related projects.

The 2022 Safety and Occupational Health Academic Seminar was organized under the theme “Towards a Smart and Safe City with a Low Carbon Society,” aiming to promote the concepts of Safety City, Smart City, and Low Carbon City. It also focused on improving safety for workers, employers in industrial estates, communities, and society, with a goal of achieving a low-carbon city for economic stability in the country. The seminar emphasized the promotion of “Safety Values” in the workplace under the three pillars “M-D-C,” which represent the foundation for continuous and serious implementation of safety culture.

The seminar was held from 8th to 9th August 2022, with over 10 academic topics presented in both physical and online formats, along with over 40 booths showcasing safety innovations from government, private, and educational sectors. The event attracted over 250 participants from 150 organizations.
